Excel Bootcamp for Advanced Users

Microsoft Excel is a complex program designed to save time when processing massive amounts of data variables. Mastering Excel tools offer users results to individuals who are fluent in Functions and Formulas. The pain of stumbling through your daily tasks based on self taught instruction can be daunting without the knowledge of how Excel program designers intended for excel to function. This course will brush over the basics to solidify your foundation and proceed into intermediate and advanced level topics such as VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Power Pivots, Data Tables etc.

Level 1 Certified Google Educator Exam Prep

COVID-19 challenged educators across the world to find new and exciting ways to deliver curriculum to students. This course will provide educators with the proficiency and knowledge training for candidates preparing to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 course and others who wish to obtain a proficient understanding of the following Google Applications:

  • Google Drive - Efficiently store and share files
  • Google Docs - Solid understanding of the feature within and how to apply
  • Google Sheets - Effectively create, edit, share, manage data through formulas, pivot table etc.
  • Google Slides - Create, use and present slides both virtually and in person
  • Google Forms - Create Forms and surveys and process the data effectively
  • Google Classroom - From beginner to a deep dive into utilizing automated communication

GED/HiSET Test Preparation-English Language Arts

This course will prepare you to successfully take the Reading & Writing portion of GED or HiSET exam.  This is an online, self-paced course that is taught by live instructors on video. An advisor will provide support, answer your questions, and assist you with your choices during the orientation process of the program. Enrollment begins on August 1, 2020, but is ongoing. You can register for any of our GED/HiSET classes beginning on August 1 or throughout the year, when you are ready.  You may take the Reading/Writing portion of the HiSET or GED exam as soon as you are ready to pass the test and you may enroll in more than one subject area at a time.

G Suite Collaboration Tools: Google Documents

Organizing your Google Drive and collaborating with others in Google Docs can be invaluable as you engage with co-workers and clients virtually. Specifically, having an organized Google Drive can help you to work efficiently and effectively as you collaborate with others. Additionally, collaborating in Google Docs can support virtual meetings and initiatives beyond the laborious actions of updating, saving, and sending attachment of documents through email. Level II is a match for you if you have some experience navigating Google Drive and/ or working in Google Docs. Course participants can expect to meet live via Zoom and engage with the course material through whole group and small group interactive activities, to include opportunities for direct practice.

Nurse Assistant Training

Nurse Assistants and Home Health Aides are in high demand. Prepare yourself for employment opportunities in nursing homes, home care, and hospitals. This course teaches basic nursing skills through classroom lecture, skills practice in a fully equipped nursing lab, and clinical placement in a healthcare setting. With successful course completion, you will be eligible to take the Red Cross NAT Certification exam, will meet the requirements for an HHA Certificate and the Dementia Hand-in-Hand Training Certificate. All students must submit an online C.O.R.I. and S.O.R.I application with a photocopy of your driver’s license.  A positive C.O.R.I. may prevent students from completing the clinical requirement of the program.

Students will receive directions on how to submit both the C.O.R.I and S.O.R.I. applications upon registering for class.

Nurse Aid Training Reading and Math Placement Test

  • Must submit a copy of High School Diploma or GED prior to or on the first day of class.
  • Must be able to pass the Nurse Assistant Training Reading and Math Placement test or provide documentation of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Contact the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/C.N.A.) program coordinator at 508 678-2811, Ext. 2663 or 2527 to set up a time to take the placement test.

Sealing Your CORI

A criminal record can make it harder to get a job or find housing. However, a CORI record may contain charges that can be “sealed” or expunged so that employers or housing providers cannot see those charges. UMASS Dartmouth Law representatives will provide you with the steps it takes to help you get a copy of your CORI, understand what’s on your CORI, and seal or expunge your CORI if possible.  

Microsoft Office 365 Part 2: Next Level User SharePoint and TEAMS

This course will give you a more advanced view on how to use both SharePoint Online Team Sites and OneDrive for Business that are part of Office 365. The course material is intended for students currently working with Office 365 inside a business. SharePoint and Teams work in tandem and learning the innerworkings and features of these applications can assist in time saving productivity methods that can streamline the processes in place for approvals and workflows within the new virtual world surrounding everything. Look at the value of creating document libraries, lists and using a site to communicate with your outer circles. Communication being the key to almost any success, this course will assist our students with a strong comprehension of features and benefits specific to how SharePoint and Teams within the Office 365 platform work together.

We recommend you take Part 1 before Part 2 unless you are an everyday user with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
