Excel for Beginner Users

The Excel Bootcamp - Beginners course is an introduction to Excel and overall workbook management. Students will learn how to use and design a spreadsheet (grid of columns, rows, and cells) to enter text, values, and dates to organize and analyze data. Course topics include: Introduction to Microsoft Excel’s Ribbon, using keyboard short cuts, filling a series with Auto Fill, and using the Find & Replace function. The Beginners course also includes moving/copying worksheets, aligning Cell contents, the Wrap & Merge function, as well as applying Conditional Formatting to datasets. Setting various Page Views and Print Areas Options, will also be introduced.

Introduction to Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office is one of the most commonly used types of software in homes, schools, and businesses. In this course, you will be introduced to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access). Microsoft Word is the word processing program that is used for creating letters, reports and internal correspondence.  Microsoft Excel is an electronic file that consists of a grid of columns and rows to organize related data and to display results of calculations, known as spreadsheets. Spreadsheets enable interpretation of quantitative data for decision making. A PowerPoint presentation, also referred to as a slide show, is a collection of slides, which can be shuffled around to present and distribute a slide show. Microsoft Access is a database collection of data organized as meaningful information that can be accessed, managed, stored, queried, sorted, and reported.

Excel for Intermediate Users

The Excel Bootcamp - Intermediate course is an overall introduction to using basic Formulas in Excel including Order of Operations, Relative & Absolute Cell references, and referring to data in another Worksheet. This course will review Excel’s built-in Formula Logical Functions such as: SUM, SUMIF, COUNT, AVERAGE, MIN and MAX. The Intermediate course will also introduce basic Lookup & Reference Formulas (VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP) with examples for working with large datasets.

Excel for Advanced Users

Class Description:

The 4-hour Excel Bootcamp for Advanced Users course will focus on Excel’s advanced Formulas and functions to ensure data consistency and integrity. Topics include Restricting Cell entries to a range of Cells (Data Validation), Group & Ungroup data and Removing Duplicate rows from a worksheet. The Advanced course will allow students to create Charts and Graphics, and how to build Pivot Tables and basic Macros.
