Fall River Arts & Culture Coalition (FRACC) is generously sponsoring four, two-hour a la carte virtual workshops designed with regional creative entrepreneurs in mind to support individual to elevate their small business practices. The Bristol facilitators will provide the opportunity for individualized Q & A 30 minutes to 1 hour after each workshop or technical support per request on a first come first serve basis.
FRACC - Business Planning for Creative Entrepreneurs with Mary Ellen Defrias
Wednesday, Nov 1st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Turn your vision into a reality by transferring ideas into a business plan on paper. Business plans are the foundation of a sustainable business. A solid business plan will help guide your actions as a business owner and provide the framework needed to capture the eyes of investors.
Throughout the 2-hour workshop, business owners will understand business plan development at a high level:
- Construct the elements of a business plan
- Design and develop a plan that will enable the business to reach its goals
- Create the roles and responsibilities of the operations and management teams
- Understand market strategies and competitive analysis
FRACC - Project Management for Creative Entrepreneurs with Mary Ellen Defrias
Wednesday, Nov 8th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
This 2-hour workshop provides creative entrepreneurs with the basics of project management, including the theory and core methodology needed to manage projects individually or participate on collaborative projects.
After taking this course, participants will have a solid foundation of the basic principles of project management, including time management, setting priority levels, and managing change and stakeholders as well as apply project management concepts in their small business practices.
FRACC - Marketing 101 for Creative Entrepreneurs with Bill Barry
Wednesday, Nov 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
What's your overall plan? Have you established a written road map for effectively marketing your business?
This 2-hour workshop will help creative entrepreneurs,
- Identify how to create a needed/desired product or service.
- Recognize their product’s target market and classify who the ideal customer is for their product.
- Compare the connection between product offering and sale. Identify the competitive landscape - Who is your competition, and how do you differentiate yourself?
- Recognize pricing to market levels: Establishing effective price points for each offering.
- Create market awareness for their product or service: What marketing tools best fit your business?
FRACC - Project Budget Development for Creative Entrepreneurs with Mary Ellen Defrias

Do you have a strong financial understanding of your small business’ revenue and expenses? Financial management is important for a sustainable operation. This project budget development workshop will help you and your small business learn information, strategies and techniques to make strong financial decisions.
This 2-hour workshop will help creative entrepreneurs,
- Create an action plan for your small business to achieve goals through determining how revenue and expenses are used.
- Understand the different types of business budgets and the reasons behind each type of budget to inform decisions.
- How to plan and develop budgets unique to your small business.
- Understand methods to monitor your budget and adjust when necessary.
- Identify five common mistakes in managing budget
