Class Description:

  1. Candidate must be at least 18 years old or have a high school diploma or GED

  2. Candidate must hold current CPR/AED certification before attempting the exam(not included with program)

  3. The NCCA accredited NASM CPT Personal Trainer Exam is taken at a local testing center (PSI), and you can schedule your exam date after completion of the program.

CES candidates must have:

  • A current NASM-CPT certification, or
  • A current health and fitness certification accredited by NCCA, NBFE or DETC, or
  • REPs Level 3 or higher credential (candidates outside of the US only), or
  • 4-year collegiate degree or

Addiction is a pervasive problem in society and there are many approaches that have been developed to achieve sobriety and long-term recovery. One of the more successful approaches is the use of Professional Recovery Coaches. Learn the dynamics of a strengths-based system for changing addictive behavior through a process of reconnecting to one's joyful identity and work toward helping others overcome and break the cycle of addiction.

In this course you will learn the effects of addiction on the brain and discover the foundational role that joy plays in recovery as you see how lasting, joyful connections are vital to the recovery process. You will also learn the role of the Professional Recovery Coach along with the desired skills, traits and competencies needed for success in the coaching relationship. This course will show you the tools to use to elicit client motivation and help clients to correct discrepancies in their thinking and beliefs. This course will also review special issues in working with families as well as ethical issues that are commonly addressed in Professional Recovery Coaching. This course is certified by the IAPRC (International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches) and provides CEUs through the NET Training Institute.

The Continuing Education Units are recognized by NAADAC (The Association for Addiction Professionals) and the IC&RC (International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium).

Certifications:

This is a knowledge based course. Students receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of this 60-hour course. This course is offered through the IAPRC (International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches) and provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the NET Training Institute. Course Description:

This online course introduces learners to the basics of project management. Throughout six segments, learners will practice the foundational skills of project management, consider the ethics involved in leading a team, and explore similarities and contrasts between Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. The self-paced course offers an assortment of interactive exercises, videos, selected readings, case studies, and self-assessments that engage students and provide opportunities to practice project management skills.

A student's grade in the course will be based on their performance on a final, cumulative exam. The final exam is composed of 50 multiple-choice questions. Students will have 2 hours to complete the exam. The exam is proctored. For more information, please see the syllabus.

If students do not earn a passing score of 70% on their first attempt, they will have the opportunity to take the exam 1 additional time (2 total attempts). Students must wait 24 hours between exam retakes. A passing score of 70% of above is required to request college credit for this certificate.
