This course has been evaluated by The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) with a recommendation of 2 credits, lower division, in business or marketing.

A student's grade in the course will be based on their performance on a final, cumulative exam. The final exam is composed of 50 multiple-choice questions. Students will have 2 hours to complete the exam. The exam is proctored. For more information, please see the syllabus.

If students do not earn a passing score of 70% on their first attempt, they will have the opportunity to take the exam 2 additional times (3 total attempts). Students must wait 24 hours between exam retakes. A passing score of 70% of above is required to request college credit for this certificate.

Class Description:

When you enroll in this all-inclusive National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-certified course, you'll unlock the door to this burgeoning career. Through 14 comprehensive lessons, you'll learn what kind of information is stored in an electronic health record (EHR) system, what steps are required to implement a system in a medical practice, how staff members and patients interact with EHR systems, and what benefits these systems provide compared to traditional paper records.

Class Description:

The Health Unit Coordinator is the central figure in a health unit. Learning management of information, communication, medical terminology, critical thinking, and cultural diversity will prepare you to work in a variety of health care settings.

In Medical Terminology you will learn not only medical terms themselves, but also their application. You'll start by learning the origins of medical words and how to recognize prefixes and suffixes used in medical terminology. Then you'll learn about the body as a whole and how to differentiate cells, tissues, organs, systems, and cavities. Medical Interpreting

Medical interpreters are in great demand both in-person and remotely by video or phone. Interpreters can elect to work for a hospital, school, or state agency, or as contractors with many agencies throughout the country. They can also elect to work remotely from home where they can work independently and make their own hours.

Open to all languages, this 60-hour program provides a working knowledge of medical interpreting, including standards of practice, ethics, HIPAA regulations, cultural competency, and medical terminology/vocabulary.

The course provides intense practice via oral role plays on a variety of medical topics. The student will also be introduced to VRI (video remote interpreting) and OPI (Over the Phone Interpreting).

Offered in collaboration with TransFluenci EDU, this course is designed for those preparing for entry-level careers as medical interpreters as well as for working interpreters preparing for the National Board Certificate exam. 

Students must be fully bilingual and must be fluent in English and one other language.

You will hear from the language assessment coordinator prior to the start of class for an assessment in the language you designated when registering.  To meet program requirements, you must pass the language assessment.

This program meets the National Board for Medical Interpreter Certification training requirement and prepares you to pass the national certification exam. Upon completion of this course, students may elect to apply for national certification.

The Real Estate Sales Exam Prep course is a prerequisite for licensing as a real estate salesperson and approved by the Massachusetts Real Estate Board. This course covers basic brokerage, legal aspects of brokerage, financing, closing, listing, valuation, and everything else you need to know to pass the exam.

*Books are not included and are purchased before class begins from Anjos Realty.  Students will be notified as to how to purchase the book once registered. The cost of the books are $70.00 and can only be paid by check or money order.

The Baker-Polito Administration Awarded $15 Million in Workforce Training Grants to the Commonwealth’s 15 Community Colleges in support of the creation and expansion of training programs in high-demand industries. This allowed the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges and Bristol Community College to partner and offer you the opportunity to start this free (with grant approval) 100-hours of Blended training to be become a CNA with flexible course options.

This digital curriculum teaches future nursing assistants the skills needed to succeed in their job, while engaging students. Up to 50% of the program coursework is provided through a digital immersive, story-based curriculum. In conjunction with online theory, students will meet in person with highly qualified instructors in our state approved lab to learn the skills portion of their Nursing Assistant Training, as well as clinical hours in a skilled nursing facility. Online Theory 48 hours, In person Lab/Skills 26 hours and 26 hours clinical. With successful course completion, you will receive a Nurse Assistant Training certificate & CPR Certification and will be eligible to take the State NAT Competency Exam.  This course also meets the Rhode Island reciprocity / endorsement requirements.

Important Information: This grant will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. To be considered for an award you MUST submit and wait for approval of ALL required pre-requisite forms prior to being awarded a grant funded spot in the program. Be prepared to upload the following documents to a secure link you will receive via email.
